Gail Parker drops out, supports Webb.

Independent Green candidate for U.S. Senate Gail Parker has dropped out of the race and wants her supporters to vote for Jim Webb. Parker has been getting about 2% in polls. But appearing at Webb’s Roanoke rally today and asking people to vote for Webb is so last-minute that it seems unlikely to make a difference for Webb. Though it’d be great to say that Webb will get that 2% and it’ll put him over the top, I can’t see many of that 2% getting the memo and changing their vote. 1:54pm Update: It’s not clear that she has dropped out. I think she’s just saying “if you’re not going to vote for me, vote for Jim Webb, not George Allen.” That’ll be really influential to everybody who isn’t going to vote for Gail Parker but look to her for advice for whom they should vote. All three of those people.
