Cricket, she of the recent 16th birthday, is a sick little dog. She’s been vomiting for the past few days, can’t keep down any food and, as of this morning, can’t walk. We took her to the emergency vet first thing this morning, and they found that her body temperature had dropped sharply. We’ve had to leave her there, with an i.v. and a catheter — they’re going to keep her overnight to try and get her rehydrated and figure out what’s wrong. (It may be related to her seizure a couple of years ago, in that it’s neurological in nature, with a muted version of the same symptoms.) It’s her first time away from home on her own.
