Rove dropped from Kilgore fundraiser.

What a damned shame. Karl Rove, who was scheduled to give the keynote address at a Kilgore fundraiser yesterday, was dropped from the lineup. And I do mean that it’s a shame — Rove may well be indicted before November 8, and that’d be great for us Democrats. Apparently, Kilgore didn’t get the memo that he needs to distance himself from “Turd Blossom” (as President Bush calls him) — he described Rove as “a big help” to the campaign.

Thanks for throwing us that bone, Jer.

As an aside, Kilgore said that the event that “liberal editorial boards” were attacking his “Hitler” ad because “the truth hurts.” I’m curious how the Richmond Times-Dispatch would feel about being described as “liberal”?

  1. I heard on TV this morning (“Meet the Press”? Stephanopoulos’ show on ABC?) that Rove announced yesterday, after he testified, that he was canceling his scheduled weekend appearances at various fundraisers. So Kilgore didn’t drop him — Rove dropped Kilgore (and, presumably, others).

  2. And, did not bother to inform Mr. Kilgore, I might add. Perhaps, Karl Rove was really disappoiinted that the Virginia Republicans were not successful in their attempt to scam their insurance company and have them pay the penalties and settlement of the CRIMINAL eavesdropping case the Democrats held their feet to the fire over.

This had to be disappointing considering the criminal indictments that are sure to come tumbling down any day now.

    Any day now …

  3. pardon the typoe: disappointed.

Wonder what the Republicans would have had to say if the Democrats had attempted to have an insurance company pay up on a claim that arose because of criminal convictions?

Ms. Manners can barely contain her hysteria at imagining the legal precedent the Republicans were attempting to establish.
