Global dimming.

In the past 30 years, it turns out, pollutants have reduced by 10% the amount of sunlight that reaches Earth. It’s continuing at the rate of 3% a decade. Note that there is a direct correlation between sunlight and plant growth — a 1% reduction in sunlight exposure means 1% less plant mass. 1% less plant mass means 10% less biomass. You and me? We’re biomass.

One need not be a rocket scientist to know that we’re totally screwed in 40-60 years.
