Virgil Goode is running for president.

Yes indeed, it’s happening. Goode is running on the Constitution Party ticket, as has been suspected for the past year. His campaign treasurer is, as always, his wife. The question is whether he’ll crack 0.5% of the vote. My suspicion is that, no, he won’t.

  1. Sweet Jesus, it’s Christmas in February! Southern Teapublicans finally have their candidate!

  2. Waldo, where does the current version of Goode stand, in a general sense? Is Santorum too much of a liberal for him?

Why isn’t he a Tea Party stalwart? Or, is this just a crazy, bitter guy doing what comes naturally?

  3. He might not crack 0.5% of the vote nationally, but I’d say he has a fairly good chance at cracking 0.5% of the vote in VA05 only. That would translate to somewhere around 1,700 votes. I would love him forever if he were kind enough to steal 1,700 votes from the Republican nominee in a battleground state; anything he got outside of the district would be gravy.

I’m afraid that I don’t know, Terry. I haven’t read any of his writings, nor have I read anything about his public remarks, since he’s joined his fourth political party, the Constitution Party.

  5. Remember, we don’t want “Moohamed on a dollar”.

This guy and his fans deserve one another.
