Hidden Beagle

22″ inches of snow so far, and it’s still falling, with another couple of inches due. We still have electricity, which is great, but all precautions have been taken for that eventuality.

  1. I think we’ve gotten close to 30 inches. The snow is up to the kids’ hips and about mid-thigh on Dan. Hard to tell with all of the drifting though. One thing is for sure: we won’t be getting out of this mountain hollow much before Christmas.

  2. Wow! Awesome photo, too.

We only got about 18 inches, but the joys of living in Philly meant that it was snowing in circles. Literally, I was walking down Chestnut Street, and all the tall buildings meant that the snow looked more like a small tornado.

Also, I can’t get out onto my deck, but I can, at least, get out of the building. The guy I feel bad for is the guy across the street from me, wiht the Prius. The actual snow fall, plus the fact that the Prius is so low to the ground plus the fact that the snowplow deposited a street’s worth of snow up against the side of his car this morning means he isn’t going anywhere for a while. And by a while, I mean May-ish. :)

  3. I take it back. We actually got 23.2 inches. And no one believes in shoveling their sidewalks, including the fine folks at SEPTA, who seem to have only salted and shoveled the Temple U subway stop. Which is awesome, because none of the subway stops here have elevators, just old school Exorcist type stairs.
