Monday GOTV rallies with Gov. Warner.

There are rallies for Tim Kaine across the state on Monday:

8:30 AM – Roanoke
Fire Station #1
13 East Church St., SE
Roanoke, VA 24011

11:30 AM – Alexandria
Market Square
301 King St.
Alexandria, VA 22314

4:30 PM – Richmond
Richmond Farmer’s Market
100 North 17th St.
Richmond, VA 23230

7:00 PM – Norfolk
Holiday Inn Select Ballroom
1570 North Military Hwy
Norfolk, VA 23502

The Richmond one will, of course, be the big one — that’s the capital, after all. Any Democrat looking to go to just one rally who is able to attend that one would do well to do so. It’ll surely be a lot of fun. For those of us working the polls on Tuesday, going to such rallies is helpful — it gets you nicely psyched up for a day’s proselytizing.

As always, Charlottesville is special — we’re having our rally on Sunday. Governor Warner will be at Central Place on the Downtown Mall at 4:15pm that day. Well, less of a rally and more of a “hangin’ with the governor” — there’s not much need to rile up Charlottesvillians when it comes to Democratic political efforts. It’s just what we do. I’m hoping to make it to this event — I hope to see some locals there.

Waldo, don’t things like this make you proud to be a Charlottesvillian! I plan to be there. My mother and I want to get a picture with the future president of the United States.

  2. Who is the “leader of the free world?” Surely you aren’t referring to George W. Bush? Good lord, he only qualifies if one of the pre-requisites for the position is for people to riot violently whenever you visit a city in the free world.

  3. I wish I worked closer to Alexandria so I could go, but since I’m taking off work for Election Day, I’ll have to give it a miss. Not that I need riling up, but it’ll be fun.

  4. Too bad Kaine doesn’t have the leader of the free world to rally with him.

I’d wait until Tuesday and only make statements like that in retrospect if applicable. :)

I said it semi-facetiously because I know what you think Bush will do to Kilgore and you know what we think it will do to Kilgore. :-D

he only qualifies if one of the pre-requisites for the position is for people to riot violently whenever you visit a city in the free world.

I would be honored if there were hooligans rioting when I came around. It shows quite clearly the character of my opponents if they do something as base as to riot.

  5. If people of the rest of the free world who protest violently against the USA leader are to be considered hooligans, the USA is indeed living in la-la land. If we were to invite such a bloodthirsty and deceitful leader to visit this country, I would be out there protesting just as strongly as the Argentines.

    Just call me Hooliganette.

  6. “Too bad Kaine doesn’t have the leader of the free world to rally with him.”

Too bad Bush doesn’t have a Republican canadidate who wants to be seen with him unless it’s in the dead of night after all the final media stories for the campaign are over and done with.

  7. Bush’s quote in the New York Times yesterday made me laugh out loud: “….the American people want their President to be polite…”

Listen, George, I don’t care whether you are polite or not — I want you to be HONEST.

  8. >If people of the rest of the free world who protest violently against the USA leader are to be considered hooligans, the USA is indeed living in la-la land. A self-indictment that I couldn’t have said better myself.
