South County Chronicle endorses Werkheiser.

The South County Chronicle has a lot of nice things to say about both Republican Dave Albo and Democrat Greg Werkheiser, but it’s Werkheiser that they endorsed for election to the 42nd District House of Delegates seat:

We have watched Albo’s career develop from the beginning. Over the 12 years that he has served, we have kept hoping that he would move to the middle and modify his extreme positions. That is clearly not going to happen. As a result, it really pains us not to be able to endorse his candidacy. If you want low state taxes and mediocre roads and schools, however, Albo is your man.

[…]

We endorse Werkheiser as a moderate Democrat looking to work the middle ground and realizing that to be effective requires working across party lines, which he clearly can do. Virginia faces daunting transportation challenges in addition to real challenges to maintain our great schools and colleges. Werkheiser is a very talented individual, dedicated to community service. We believe he will be a very effective delegate and will work hard to find solutions to these difficult problems.

I’d claim to be pleased or surprised but, hey, it’s Greg Freaking Werkheiser. Of course he got their endorsement.

  1. Wow!. That is one hell of a story what with your candidate’s education being paid for by the good smaritan. Its doubly good for the fact that i have a vendetta against david albo because i sent his firm a resume and they didnt even take the time to reject me, let alone hire me.
