STATEMENT OF RPV CHAIRMAN KATE OBENSHAIN GRIFFIN

Regarding Tim Kaine’s Deceptive Use of Code Words

RICHMOND Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Kate Obenshain Griffin issued the following statement today regarding Tim Kaine’s deceptive use of code words in describing the biggest tax increase in Virginia history:

“Raising taxes is not ‘budget reform.’ Tim Kaine, someone who has never passed up the opportunity to endorse a tax increase, has by no means earned the moniker of ‘tax cutter.’ At tonight’s town hall meeting, I call on Tim Kaine to stop hiding behind phony rhetoric. Tim Kaine needs to stand tall and proud and tell Virginians he loves raising taxes and if elected looks forward to raising taxes even more.”

I’ve written before about the Kilgore campaign’s clever use of coded language — I’ve glad to see that the campaign is acknowledging its existence.

Presumably, it’s now fair game for the Kaine campaign to point out Scott Howell’s influence on the language used by the Kilgore campaign.
