Po’ hick.

When departing from Greg Werkheiser’s campaign kickoff yesterday, we were discussing how ugly that area of Lorton is. The exit off the highway yields to mud and clay — all visible land has been chewed up by earth movers, making way for untold thousands of houses for at least a couple of major subdivisions. The sort of places that are advertised via signs on 95 that promote, without a hint of irony, “Starting in the mid-$700s.”

In the midst of all of this was one, lone, regular ol’ house, with a sign out front of it.

Pohick Square sign

In the face of overwhelming sprawl taking over one’s home, it’s important to maintain one’s sense of humor.
