Astute readers will note that my “Listening To” sidebar, which lists the past five songs that have played in iTunes on my desktop computer, appears to have been broken in the past couple of days. After all, it just lists Madeleine Peyroux‘s “Don’t Wait Too Long,” from Careless Love over and over again.
This is not in error. In fact, I have simply been listening to the song repeatedly. I should like very much to buy the rest of the album, along with her first album, but they’re still charging for music, sadly. Suffice it to say, she’s quite marvelous — Billie Holiday, were she alive today and funkier-than-thou, would be performing precisely what Madeleine Peyroux is performing.
