My mother wrote a book.

My mother, NPR essayist, has a book out now. It’s called "Birdseed Cookies: A Fractured Memoir." It’s a whole bunch of her essays, including ones about me, opossums, Scott Simon, ADD and, yes, birdseed cookies. I’d buy it, but, y’know, she gave me a copy. If you want to read some of her essays before you pony up $16, she’s got a whole bunch up on her site. Personally, I’d just spend the $16, because you’re going to like the book. Also, if you e-mail her when you get it and tell her that you bought the book, she’ll probably love you forever, and that’s something you just can’t normally get for $16. All around, a good deal.
