  • The attorneys in Perry v. Schwarzenegger—California's Prop 8 gay marriage case that is virtually guaranteed to wind up in the Supreme Court—cannot provide a single reason how gay marriage harms anybody in any way. When pressed many times during oral arguments, the attorney for the anti-gay defendants can't muster a one. That's because there *is* no way in which it does any harm to anybody at all. It's madness.

  1. What you lib’ruls don’t understand is that if the homos get married it will make my MY marriage LESS SPECIAL.

  2. The best wedding venues always get booked up many months in advance. If you let the gays marry then us heterosexuals are going to have an even harder time finding a good spot for our wedding.

  3. Hee hee.

My wife and I eloped to San Francisco and got married at the Clerk’s office, considered one of the best wedding spots in town.

Oh, wait, that was before SF took a stab at allowing gay marriages. No *wonder* there wasn’t a line. Never mind.

  4. Well, it’s not about harm to individual marriages. It is about promoting a societal interest, in this case procreation. I would say that the ultimate objective of procreation is the preservation of culture. And couples that don’t procreate don’t promote that objective. So, technically, we shouldn’t let them get married or cohabitate either. Only couples planning on having at least two kids should be allowed to get married. And then we should check in on them after 5 years. If they haven’t had two, we should nullify their marriages as they are denigrating the institution. I’m sure we could also think of more severe punishments to really preserve the institution of marriage as a procreation vehicle.
