A July 4 DUI checkpoint in Florida stopped 1,100 cars. Ten people were arrested, 100 were cited. Not a one was drunk. Are this "DUI" fig leaf fooling anymore? These checkpoints are unlawful search and seizure, plain and simple.

That Jeffrey Sharlet piece is old, but it is just, so, er, um… I can’t put my finger on it… just so, uh, weird.
It’s not some evil plot to take over the world, but it’s more than a neighborhood prayer group. “Weird.” That’s all I can come up with.
Throughout the day I encounter interesting articles, just in the course of my work here at VQR, and I end up reading a couple during my lunch break, etc., that aren’t work-related. I started bookmarking some to read at home later, and it finally occurred to me that I could share these bookmarks after I’d read ’em. Here’s hoping it proves useful.
