Reid retiring?

I’m told that Del. Jack Reid, the Republican from Henrico, may well not seek reelection this year. He’s represented the 72nd since 1990. It’s a conservative district, so the seat will go to a Republican, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the seat ended up shifting to the left somewhat. If there’s anybody to the right of Reid thinking about running, I don’t know about it.

  2. I got a letter from Jack yesterday confirming that he is retiring. I must say that he was always a good friend to me. We did not always agree, of course, but he fought for things he believed in (including, let’s recall, a fairly dramatic improvement in air quality standards). I genuinely am going to miss him.
