NBC 29: Sen. Charles Hawkins is retiring. Hawkins represents a good chunk of Southside, including Danville, as he has since 1992. With the resignation of Del. Allen Dudley, things should be realy busy in Franklin County this fall.

Life looks good in Richmond too: Primaries galore, open seats and some contested races.
If anyone thinks he knows what’s going on with the retirement of so many Republicans from the GA, I would really appreciate an explanation – even if it’s only an educated guess.
