After ten months of negotiation, House Democrats have a deal to turn over congressional documents pertaining to Duke Cunningham and MZM over to federal prosecutors. The logjam has prevented anything from going forward in the investigation. Even without that evidence, both Brent Wilkes and Dusty Foggo were indicted in the case two weeks ago. This evidence will allow prosecutors to determine what deals were struck by whom on the Appropriations Committee.

In October I wrote this diary listing a couple of the culprits; several of them are no longer on HAC –

So it’s only a matter of days before Virgil Goode is indicted, is that it?
Thanks so much for that link, Kathy — I wanted to link to a listing of the 109th, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I’ve updated that blog entry to use your link.
To answer your question, Don, nobody knows. (Or, if they do, they’re not sayin’.) These documents may well vindicate him. Until the documents are studied by prosecutors and, ideally, made public, there’s no telling what effect they’ll have on Rep. Goode or anybody else. But it is Rep. Goode’s involvement in all of this that has me following the story, so I do anticipate that these documents could settle things, one way or another.
