AT visitors to gauge forest health.

AP: The ATC plans to enlist visitors to the Appalachian Trail to measure a few trees and take a few pictures to constantly assess the health of the entire AT corridor. Several million people hike some portion of the AT each year. (Mostly Brooklynites at Bear Mountain on Labor Day weekend. Or so it seems.) It shouldn’t hard to get a few people to take some photos.
