Rep. Royce: al-Qaeda snuck in from Mexico.

I just heard Congressman Ed Royce (R-CA) claim on The Lars Larson show that we need a fence between the U.S. and Mexico because members of al-Qaeda have entered the United States by sneaking across the southern border. Did he completely make that up? It’s the first I’ve heard about any such thing. Why wouldn’t they just fly, drive, or take a boat, rather than crawling through a desert?

It was a story in the fringe media last month (Sept), and one that keeps popping up every so often. It’s usually associated with Adnan G. El Shukrijumah who is usually figured as the next “Mohammed Atta.”

The links are all interesting reading, but nothing I’d lose sleep over. Like I said.. “Fringe media.”
