Somehow I missed last week’s news that Ikea is opening their first U.S. plant in Danville, which Gov. Kaine announced. That’s 300 jobs, with potential for twice as many in the next decade. That’s good news for Southside. Not as good as a local (or at least American) furniture business, but beggars can’t be choosers.
