Blog aggregators updated.

Planet, the software that I use to run Charlottesville Blogs and Virginia Political Blogs, has finally been released formally. (As opposed to beta releases.) And its developers like it so much, they’ve decided to skip right past v1.0 and call it v2.0. I’m not about to argue.

So I’ve upgraded both aggregators. The major difference is that the new version of Planet is way more fault-tolerant, thanks to the contributions of Sam Ruby. At least a few folks have found themselves shut out of either aggregator, due to their blogging platform producing substandard feeds. And at least once a week a feed is so badly formatted that it brings the whole affair to a screeching halt. No longer.

There will be some goofiness at first, as all of the feeds have to be parsed anew. Expect some old blog entries to appear as if they’re new. But that shall pass, and then all will be well.

  1. Did anyone from Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty contact you?

    Nope.

The time is off on your vapoliticalblogs. Are you going to fix that?

Well I’m not just going to leave it. :)
