Walking past Escafé on the Downtown Mall about an hour ago, I did a triple-take when I saw The Daily Show’s Ed Helms. Turns out he’s in “Evan Almighty,” the sequel to “Bruce Almighty” that’s filming here in town.

I saw Steve Carrell…Carel? Steve whatsisname at La Cuchina del Sol, getting takeout last night. I felt kind of sorry for him, he was all furtive about it. Clearly a marked man of sorts. Since I’m not cursed with fame and money, I could actually sit in the corner and eat a leisurely meal. Plus, he’s a lot more hirstute in real life. That’s not a compliment, really.
