On WMRA Monday afternoon.

Monday afternoon I’ll be a guest on Tom Graham’s “Insight” on WMRA. The topic, “Talking the Talk,” is described on the website as such:

Can listening to talk radio change your political opinions?

Why do conservative talk show hosts rule the talk airwaves?

And if you were a campaign manager, how would you manage the talk media?

Tune in at 3 p.m. and join in the conversation as we look at the influence and growth of talk radio on the next Insight.

I love how the guests are described on the site:

David Jones, Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Political Science at James Madison University and faculty member in-residence with JMU’s Washington Semester.

Waldo Jaquith, Editor of Cvillenews.com

Translation: We’ve got this one totally qualified guy and…uh…this one dude who, like, runs a website or something. It’s funny because it’s true.

So if you’re in Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Lexington, Farmville or Winchester, listen from 3pm-4pm. I know I look forward to hearing what the other two guys have to say. What I’ll have to add, I can’t possibly imagine.

  1. Wlado, I have no doubt that you are just as smart as some high falutin Ph.D.
Don’t let a few initials intimidate you into thinking that nonsense is smart.

    I don’t.

  2. Waldo-

Dr. Jones is awesome! Ask any jmu poli sci grad and they will tell you that he is the best professor in the department. His classes fill up faster than a DMB show sells out and the Washington Semester program is in super high demand. I was a Washington Semester participant and I had Dr. Jones for political campaigning and several other classes- each one ranks as one of the best experiences at JMU. For me he was that professor that was more than an instructor, I spent hours in his office talking about politics or baseball and just life in general. The great thing is that I bet you can find dozens of jmu students who will say the same thing. Dr. Jones is fantastic and definitely not a high-falutin Ph.D or in anyway intimidating so don’t worry about that! Good luck and have fun!

  3. I managed to to catch about half of the show – sadly they were not letting you speak much during that time. Loved your response to being considered the “youngster” of the group. :-)
