  1. Ray McGovern was absolutely riveting; he spoke primarily about torture, and how he gave the medal that the CIA gave him upon retirement, back to the Chair of the House committee that controls funding for the war.

    He spoke eloquently, sometimes at a whisper, about what it means now that the US has tortured people, not only Iraqis, but Americans and people of other nationalities as well. He made the great point that, unlike in the past, this country is getting scorned and laughed at when they criticize human rights violations in other countries. Recently, China is a good example. We can no longer in this country claim the moral highground for ourselves. We have sunk to the level of all the other torturers in the world. I know for me at least, this is an unacceptable development.
