Richmond delayed.

Morning SnowfallI’d planned to leave for my weekly General Assembly visit around 9am this morning, but it’s not looking good.

We’ve got 2″ of snow so far, which isn’t much, but it’s made a mess of things. WINA reports that there are a pair of cars flipped on 29, Amber tells me that Proffit Road is closed due to an accident, and the entrance ramp on 64 from Keswick (where I get on 64 to go to Richmond) is shut down due to an accident.

If things clear up in the next few hours, I’ll go. If not, I think I’ll have to make it a half-day tomorrow afternoon. I’ve got a pair of appointments in town tomorrow morning, and Friday I’m speaking to Western Albemarle High School’s government class about…um…something (I’d best figure that out), so today is really the best day for things.

I’m thinking it’s time for oatmeal and hot chocolate.

10:15am Update: The snow has stopped and the roads are now damned well good enough. Time to put on something decent, clean off the car and get out of here. I’ll shoot to get there by noon, when the House and the Senate will convene. Ain’t no point to getting there earlier, since they go into caucus at 11:30 and even if I left this very minute I couldn’t be there before then.
