Strange rituals.

Apparently there’s a common habit of invoking snow through superstitious rituals that has somehow evaded my notice. Is it any small wonder that so many people think man was made out of mud on an October morning 6,002 years ago?

  1. What I don’t understand is why CNN felt compelled to interview a scientist about it. It would have been far more appropriate to talk to whoever is carrying the Crowley torch these days. What these people are doing is clearly a crude form of magick. I don’t think it’s going to get them very far without finding an appropriate deity or demon or whatever to invoke while they do it. I mean, how powerful do they think that they really are? Throwing ice cubes in the pond as if their will alone is strong enough to git ‘er done. You’ve got to get you some elder gods for that kind of deal. Messing with the weather seems like it would be some pretty serious magick. Messing with elemental forces & whatnot. Probably even if you succeeded there would be some ice diety or something that would get ticked off at you for stepping on his toes and you probably don’t want to get into a pissing match with something like that.

Not that I believe in this. It’s just that if you think that throwing ice cubes into a pond is going to make something happen then an extension of that logic suggests that you’ve just opened up a whole can of worms with serious consequences.
