Fall has fallen.

Wow, what a difference a day makes.

Yesterday was the first full day of autumn, and autumn has surely descended upon us. Thursday was warm — maybe around 90° — but yesterday couldn’t have gotten much out of the 70s. It got windy, scattering yellow and brown leaves across the roads. Today it’s overcast, in the 60s. Long sleeves and long pants are the prudent manner of dress.

Having gone to the beach twice this summer, I feel as if I’ve sucked the marrow out of summer (with apologies to Thoreau). I’m prepared for fall.

Bring it.
