White House: No abuse investigation, or else.

Reuters:

The White House on Thursday threatened to veto a massive Senate bill for $442 billion in next year’s defense programs if it moves to regulate the Pentagon’s treatment of detainees or sets up a commission to investigate operations at Guantanamo Bay prison and elsewhere.

Wow. That’s scarcely believable. I triple-checked the URL, just to make sure this wasn’t a spoof or something.

That this comes immediately on the heels of the White House’s refusal today to follow court orders to release photos and videos of additional prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib. The evidence includes videotapes of soldiers violently sodomizing young boys, beating a man to death, and raping a woman. Those who have seen the evidence say that the worst part is listening to the children cry.

If America learns that we rape little boys, the terrorists have already won?
