In a press release today, Greg Werkheiser’s campaign (about which I wrote a couple of days ago) engages in some much-deserved bragging.
Greg Werkheiser, Democratic candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates from the 42nd District in southern Fairfax County, out-raised his Republican incumbent opponent, David Albo, by nearly 10-1 in the first quarter of 2005, according to reports filed on April 15 with the State Board of Elections.
- Werkheiser out-raised his opponent by nearly 10-1: Werkheiser $100,137.72; Albo $10,550.
- Werkheiser has over twice the cash on hand of his opponent: Werkheiser $86,507.38; Albo $37,621.11.
- Werkheiser’s contributions came from 406 contributors; Albo had 10 contributors.
- Albo’s largest contributions continue to come from alcohol-related industries (a total of $21,750)—nearing 30% of his total contributions to date. 99% of Werkheiser’s cash contributions come from individuals, not corporations.
As the expression goes, it ain’t bragging if it’s true.
That’s fairly pathetic.
Yeah, for Albo.
Werkheiser sounds like he has a great shot. Looks like CVille won’t have the only new Dem in 2006.
Werkheiser’s campaign is truly a pleasure to watch.
Oh the joys of lazy incumbents!
