Gilmore angling for Homeland Security?

Commonwealth Conservative thinks that former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore is angling for Director of Homeland Security.

Let me explain to you exactly what Gilmore is trying to say, in laymans terms:

Please, President Bush. I want to be appointed Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

That about sums it up.

I still don’t know what, exactly, the Director of Homeland Security does, so I guess I can’t very well object. It involves pointing to colors on a chart. Beyond that, I haven’t seen any strong evidence that it’s a particularly demanding position.
