While driving between Earlysville and Free Union (north of Charlottesville) yesterday, Amber and I had an unusual treat: a bobcat darted across the road in front of us. I slowed the car as I passed it, and watched it saunter off into the forest. I’ve walked the length of the state and driven thousands of miles on country roads, but this was the first time that I spotted a wild cat.
