Interviewless interview.

Somehow, C-Ville Weekly assembled a story about me without even talking with me. I mean, they’ve talked to me every so often over the years, but they actually have a half-page story in the newest issue (the “special Dave Matthews Band issue”), complete with a big photo, all about me. This is weird on two fronts:

  1. Normally, one knows when there will be a story in a paper about them. To open up the paper and read a story about oneself, without expecting it, is surreal.

  2. It’s funny to see myself profiled in the context of DMB. I’m a fan boy. I help run a fan site. So I can’t help but feel like a fraud to see myself included within the context of DMB. Because I am a fraud in that context.

I don’t object. The story is factually correct, assembled from various interviews over the years, and it’s good PR for nancies.org, and I appreciate that they were kind enough to promote us in this issue. It’s just weird, that’s all.
