Republicans modify counterfeit Kaine call.

My mother got the Honest Leadership for Virginia PAC phone call again today. This time it was slightly changed, with the introduction claiming that it’s from NARAL, and they’re endorsing Russ Potts over Tim Kaine. (Astute politicos will recall that NARAL sat this one out, realizing that their endorsement would hurt Kaine.) Then the same audio clips were used as in the previous ad, and at the end cale the legal disclaimer that it was paid for by the ironically-named Honest Leadership for Virginia PAC.

In for a penny, in for a pound, I guess.

  1. I actually got two of those phone calls. The machine picked up the first one I got (end of last week sometime). I hung up a third of the way through the second phone call. Which I recieved tonight.

I’m guessing sponsored political messages don’t qualify for the “Do not call” list.

  2. Why are people so shocked and surprised by this? Republicans are liars and cheats. This is news? This is a party run by criminals who are being indicted for everything from money laundering to obstruction of justice. They’re crooks. How could you expect anything else from them?

The Republican party, as usual, knows that they can’t win a fair election based on their crackpot ideas and weak candidates. All they can do is try to suppress turnout and cross their fingers. This and bigotry are the only cards they ever have to play.
