Democrats have jumped ahead of Republicans on a generic ballot, 48/42, while Obama's approval has climbed to 54%. That said, generic ballot polls are basically useless. We have congress, not a parliament—party preferences don't tell us much about how people are going to vote.

Just what it says on the tin. Drawn by Chuck Forsman.

I've been listening to this folk singer from Saltville, VA, who recorded much of her work during the Depression. Her voice is definitely an acquired taste, but I've come to like it. Alan Lomax sure recorded a lot of great Virginia music.

The Rand Paul county coordinator who curbstomped a young woman (while he was wearing a "Don't Tread on Me" pin) says that *she* owes *him* an apology. The 23-year-old woman has been released from the hospital after treatment for a concussion. Said stomper has a date with a judge to be charged. Stay classy, Tim Profitt!

Re: Raiders
nice! although, as a Popeye aficionado, I have to point out that the illustration looks more Kevin Hiuzenga, or maybe Harold Gray… Segar’s style was much more rounded, smooth, and energetic
How nice of Newsweek to try to bolster Obama just before the midterms. The new Harris poll shows Obama’s approval at an all-time low (37%), and notes that Democratic candidates — especially in gubernatorial races — are politely asking the president to stay home, and not come help out.
Oh, what a difference two years makes.
Where can that Harris Poll be seen? I can’t find it anywhere. It might not matter, it would be in the outlier neighborhood as polls stand right now.

This poll conglomeration shows 49-46 for Obama’s approval, a long way from your example. I noticed that CBS had a poll showing 39% approval, but when I went to that page

I found that result was a specific subject rather than approval overall. Their result was 45-44% for that approval.
Any election year, you will find some who don’t want visits from high powered guest speakers. Nothing different, although maybe Republicans are required to accept having someone come and speak at their rally.
For instance, I don’t see W out in the hustings cheering a candidate on.
Oh, what a non-difference two years makes.
Ill tell the President hello for you tomorrow, that is, if I myself knew who you are.
