VDOT turns out to have a Flickr account, which is great. They've got a set of photos from the current storm, which is better. But the images are all provided under a Creative Commons license, which is best of all.

Impressively, the state has set up a quick blog on Tumblr to post information about road conditions. Rather than try to create that functionality, or fake it with their own lumbering CMS, they apparently just went to tumblr.com, started a new blog, and they're using that. Simple, free, and very effective.
