This sustainable energy interest group has released their annual report card for how friendly each state's laws are to net metering and electrical interconnection. Virginia has gone from a C to a B in net metering in the last year, and from an F to an A in interconnection in the same span. Yay us.

A map of the world, but instead demarcations for natinoal boundaries, it's instead linguistic boundaries. Of course, linguistic boundaries have a tendency to resist firm definition, so any map like this is bound to require some wild simplification, but it's no less valuable for that.

John Gruber proposes a better regular expression (PCRE-style, which I haven't managed to switch to yet) to recognize URLs in blocks of text. I'll be getting some mileage out of this.
