Sounds like Bob McDonnell’s Covenant Marriage soulmate. All of this married-for-life legislation looks like an earmark for divorce lawyers.
Fun fact: the existing Californian laws allowing for “no-fault” divorces (a fairly radical concept back when they were introduced in 1969) were originally signed into law by a Republican governor — Ronald Reagan.
Now the conservative grassroots wants to undo it all to “protect marriage.”
