Teabagger is seeking nomination in the 20th.

Teabagger David Karaffa is running for Del. Chris Saxman’s seat. Oh, how I look forward to this election. I hope Catherine Crabill finds an ally in the nominee.

  1. A teabagger is a person who works hard to provide income for government workers and what they want to do. Democrats need to be nicer to them.

  2. A teabagger is someone who delivers teabags to Senator Mark Warner. Any other questions?

Thanks for the heads up. The Valley is so full of tin-foil hats, our wingnut radar gain control is being overwhelmed by the noise.

  3. Zen: I read through all of that, um, writing, and, um, wow. I firmly believe that anyone who wants to be in a position of any sort of authority, even state delegate authority, should be able to write coherently. At a bare minimum, I believe that an elected official should not write things that make my brain go smooth.

However, to give the man credit, I loved his last paragraph. I think he should center his campaign around some sort of “core” reference. For serious.

  4. Thanks for posting the link to that essay Zen. I was struck by his statement that “Conservatives understand that the United States Soldier is given orders and they follow them no matter what.” This is a truly disturbing(and, of course, completely erroneous) view of how the military works. Blind allegiance to any authority — one’s military commander, one’s President, one’s creed — is a dangerous thing, and it’s a little frightening that Mr. Karaffa touts it as one of his “core principles.”

  5. Well, no need to thank me. I only led you to the Kool-Aid, you were wise enough not to drink.

I really want to bring up the Nuremberg judgment with this guy. However, I think the double-hit of a contrary judgment and the suggestion that he, as an American, be bound by international law would do some serious damage, and I don’t think want to be held responsible for that.

  7. I’m not too concerned about splashing cold water on Karaffa’s ideas. There are currently eight people seeking the nomination, and I wouldn’t consider him a forerunner. Yet, I am rarely shocked anymore by the antics of Republican SWACistan.
