Sorensen is seeking applicants for three programs.

The Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership is accepting applications for their high school, college, and candidate training programs. Their high school and college programs are residential and in the summer, two and four weeks long respectively. Their candidate training program is an intensive four-day program, held just east of Winchester in May. I speak to the candidate training program every year, and I’ve seen how valuable that it is. Ditto for the high school and college programs.

If you’re planning to run for office soon, or a high school or college aged political geek, do yourself a favor and look into attending one of these Sorensen programs. The high school and college programs can be particularly life-changing for kids not accustomed to being surrounded by politically-savvy peers. If they look too expensive, don’t worry—scholarships are available.

  1. I know several friends went thru the program that live in Danville, Will it be offered in Danville. Or explain how to enroll..

  2. There used to be a Danville program, a leadership program that Sorensen ran specifically for that city—they don’t do anything like that anywhere else in the state. But a few years ago they folded it into their other programs, which I think is best, because that kind of ghettoized Danville. Danville residents are as welcome to participate in Sorensen’s programs as folks from anywhere else in the state, of course.

  3. that is how I met Bob and some of the others. I went to some of the events when they had guest speakers come to the IALR. never knew what the program was. Seems something interesting.
