Fishwick exits AG race.

Via a press release, I see that John Fishwick has decided not to pursue the Democratic nomination for AG. Sen. Creigh Deeds once told me that he’d like to see Fishwick run against Goodelatte in the Sixth District. Maybe that’s in the cards for him.

But, hey, I just like to say Fishwick.

  1. My memory is that Fishwick ran against Goodlatte once in the 1990’s and got beat.

John is a great lawyer and a wonderful human being, but I have a hard time seeing him as a politician. Too boring, too low key.

  2. John Fishwick ran for the Democratic nomination in the 6th in 1992, the year that Goodlatte first ran on the Republican side. Fishwick was defeated by Steve Musslewhite, who lost to Goodlatte.

Since that time, Fishwick has not run for office or been very active in the party.

(He IS a fine lawyer! Plus, he would make a great candidate for some office.)
