Gibson headed to Sorensen.

From the “When Worlds Collide” department, Bob Gibson has been hired as the new executive director of the Sorensen Institute. Sorensen’s founding executive director was also from the newspaper world — Bill Wood had spent nearly as long as Bob as a Virginia reporter and editor.

  2. Ha! Heck no. I’d be deeply, deeply unqualified for that position. :) (For starters, UVa wants a master’s degree for a faculty position.) I’ve never had a staff of a half dozen working for me. I’ve never dealt with a budget that big. Never run a non-profit that answered to a board. I’d be a disaster. :)
