Bush’s ginormous entourage.

The size of President Bush’s entourage is stunning. I assume that this isn’t unique to him, but a fact of the modern U.S. presidency. I don’t know how many people would be appropriate, but 670 people just strikes me as a lot.

  1. Well, I guess it’s comforting to know that not ALL of our tax dollars are being wasted on blowing up Iraqi children.

  2. And I can’t believe you actually used the word ginormous. If we should be bombing anything, it should be that word.

  3. I don’t buy that graphic. On first glance, I thought it a pretty neat representation, but then I noticed that it failed to account for all sorts of things. On another thread, someone pointed out that it matched up to the figures listed in a NZ paper, but that’s about it. In any event, I could see this *maybe* being the case for some of the longer international trips, but this is very much not the everyday get around trip.

Anyway, I don’t think it reflects reality all that much.
