How bad is Watkins Abbitt’s record?

When listing the bills that constitute his 2007 legislative accomplishments he doesn’t name a single one of his 2007 bills. (If he’s ever introduced a bill of any substance, I’ve never encountered it.) Many of the bills that he brags about merely voting for passed unanimously. If legislators were a color, Abbitt would be beige.

  1. This comment will serve only two improve Abbitt’s standings with his districts xenophobes, but I have alwaye been struck by the similarities of Abbitt and Virgil Goode. Both would never be more influential than your average dogcatcher if it weren’t for their daddies. Both used the Democratic Party as a vehicle to getr their careers started, only to turn hard right later. They are similar ideologically and stylistically, to the point that their campaign commercials are nearly identical. And they both haven’t done a damn thing legislatively.
