McDonnell sitting on two-year-old DGIF scandal.

Remember the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries scandal? Top agency officials going on a 17 day African safari, outfitted with gear bought on state credit cards? Funny thing: nobody’s been charged with any crime in the case In fact, nobody’s been held accountable at all. The case is in the attorney general’s hands. That’s Bob McDonnell, the same AG who received $25,000 for his campaign from Daniel A. Hoffler, the chair of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries board. The guy who uncovered all of this government waste, via a FOIA request, figures that people will have to picket the AG’s office before he’ll take any action.

  1. Time for a whistleblower law in Virginia?

It might help. I don’t understand how a blatant case of doing nothing can allowed to go on any longer.

And this guy is running for Governor?

  2. Did you mean “picket” the AG’s office?

I certainly am impressed that you managed to figure out “picket” after I typed only “pick.” Typos are the inevitable result of writing blog entries at midnight, it seems. :)
