Annabell Lee Sandridge Beale, age 94, of Stony Point, died peacefully at home with family on Sunday, May 27, 2007.

She was born August 21, 1912 in Crozet, Virginia. She married George Grayson Beale in 1929 and moved to Stony Point where they owned and operated Redfield Orchards for twenty-five years. She was an avid gardener who loved flowers and could grow anything. A firm believer in the strength of country cooking, she ran the Stony Point Elementary School cafeteria for many years, making homemade meals for hundreds of children. She made sure that no one ever went home hungry.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Barbara Capron and her husband, Carl, of Stony Point; her son, Grayson Beale and his wife, June, of Tappahannock; her granddaughter, Dawn Reilly of Palmyra; her granddaughter, DeAnn Compton and her husband, Duane, of Tappahannock; her granddaughter, Amber Capron and her husband, Waldo Jaquith, of Stony Point; her granddaughter Cristin Capron and her grandson, Cory Capron of Stony Point; and four great-grandchildren, Jason Compton, Victoria Compton, Matthew Reilly and Connor Reilly. She is also survived by extended family and caregivers, Catherine Aubrey, Kristina Dochenetz, Tiffany Summers, and Fredina Witcher. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Grayson Beale; her parents, Crevilla and Newton Sandridge of Waynesboro; her brother, William Sandridge of Cremora, and six half-brothers and half-sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Hill and Wood Funeral Home with interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at the Funeral Home.
