Chichester is out.

Sen. John Chichester is retiring. He’s one of the good old-fashioned regular Republicans that populate the state senate, not of the flat-earth mold of many House Republicans. As with the retirement of Sen. Russ Potts, it’s hard to imagine that this will result in anything other than a farther-right senate, which is fine, because that’s the path to Republicans losing their majority.

  1. I wish it were fine, and a Democratic Senate would be a wonderful thing, but a Democratic takeover due to right-wing BS only means years more suffering for the Commonwealth.

  2. Oh, go read that link, folks. A nice little 10 year WayBack machine. “Newt Gingrich, as close to a Mother Teresa as conservatism has [ . . . ]”!
