Netflix settles class-action suit.

The Jaded J.D. has goaded me into linking to his entry about Netflix’ recent legal settlement on the matter of their “fairness algorithm.” Also, I have a hard time spelling “algorithm.”

  1. The Chicago Tribune actually had a really good story on this subject February 11th of this month. The practice according to the article is called “Throttling” where heavy renters do not get access to their top choices, or to the very newest (and hence most popular) releases. It even has links to some websites that did comparison testing. It’s worth checking out.
