Kaine’s response to the Hitler ad.

The good news: Tim Kaine has a genuine response ad to the Hitler ad.
The bad news: It blows.

Kaine showed up to a knife fight with a note from his mother.

  1. I dunno, looked like a good ad for me. The implication of the ad was this:

    “Stop attacking my religious beliefs.”

  2. This is fine as long as it’s only half of the response. Run this and then run a new attack ad at the same time.

If this is the only response then it is pathetic and Tim Kaine owes this entire party an apology for having sought our nomination. I am sick unto nausea of watching good Democratic candidates hold back in the final stretch. If Kaine wants a clear conscience about attack ads, then he should have stayed home instead of running for Governor. Then he could sit quietly in his living room and revel privately in his moral superiority. Meanwhile, we could have had someone else out here getting his knuckles bloody.

This race is a dead heat. A coin-toss. Democrats all over America are watching this race. If Tim Kaine loses, every political pundit, columnist and blogger will point the finger at Kaine’s top aides and say that right here, right now was the point where they pussied out and cost us the election. Wake up, you useless resume-stamping campaign monkeys. Get up off of your asses NOW and start gouging out Kilgore’s eyes or you will be the most hated people in the Democratic party for years. Good luck ever working in politics again if you can’t muster the stomach for this assault.

  3. Yep. Barack Obama, Wesley Clark, Howard Dean and every other shining star in the Democratic party is backing this race to the hilt and watching it very closely. Listen up, Kaine advisors: Do you want Barack Obama, Howard Dean and Wesley Clark to hate you forever? These aren’t people who admire the timid. YOU will be blamed by these very important people who will never, ever hire you for anything ever. Hit hard and hit fast. These ads you’re running aren’t HARD enough.

I think you’re too weak to win right now. Prove me wrong.

  4. The worst part about that ad is that nobody will remember anything he says. Tim’s handlers
need to go nuclear on that hypnotic eyebrow. That thing is just plain spooky.

  5. they need to run a geniune negative ad, like kilgore’s duplicity in the republican ease droping suite or something..get ugly, the election isn’t going to be won or lost based on this silly non issue

  6. Also, what the viewer comes away with is that early in the commercial, Kaine states that he is opposed to the death penalty. Many people won’t get past that statement.

  7. Waldo, while I am willing to dispute infinite points with you, I am not willing dispute this one. The only question: with or without attribution? I am willing to defer to your ego, or lack thereof, as you see fit.
