Style over substance.

Mike Slaven has reviewed the audio of the recent Kaine/Kilgore debate, and come to some conclusions. Rather than consider the debate on its substance (on which it’s increasingly obvious that Kaine dominated — Kilgore told a series of whoppers during the hour and a half debate) but, instead, he looked at each candidate’s style.

Attacks only appear excusable and less-than-petty – and this is especially true at debates, when the candidates actually have to look at each other and take credit for what came out of their mouths – when they happen in escalation. Kilgore sounds so relentlessly negative that it becomes obvious that he’s nervous and he thinks he has something to prove.

That’s just a taste — Mike has lots more.
