So give us a report! How many people were there, did Deeds say anything interesting, etc?
I’ve got more over on cvillenews.com.
Creigh explained his background a little (though not much, because we all know him, what with him being our senator), over the course maybe three minutes, and then spent about five minutes talking about what he’s going to do. His agenda was pretty centrist — he talked about things like favoring the death penalty, which normally wouldn’t go over real well in a room full of Charlottesville Democrats, but he’s Creigh, so we suck it up. One bit of applause came from his mention of being on the side of the people, not pharmaceutical companies or the healthcare industry, which was about the most liberal thing (if you can call it that) that he had to say.
Creigh is a solid campaigner, and a good speaker, so he delivered exactly what we’ve come to rely on him for.
I met Deeds a couple years back and the one impression I’m left with (besides his awesome accent): blunt. This guy aint afraid to tell it like it is. One of those rare breeds.
